Environmental Justice Campaign
In close partnership with Centro LatinoAmericano Beyond Toxics launched the West Eugene Industrial Corridor Environmental Health Project. The project grew out of concerns expressed from neighbors in the area of West Eugene immediately downwind from a (then) proposed biomass energy plant, which is now operating and burning forest by-products. These affected neighborhoods have higher percentages of minority, elderly, disabled and poverty level residents.

Oregon Business magazine has named the 100 Best Nonprofits to Work for in Oregon. The ranking was based on the opinion of the people who count the most — the people who work in the nonprofits. Centro LatinoAmericano is the only Latino organization that made the ranking this year. We celebrate our great workplace.
“We are a small Eugene-based nonprofit. We work had every day to serve other immigrants like us, but we also have fun while doing it, and get along well with one another. When people enjoy what they do, it shows!” said Centro LatinoAmericano Executive Director Marcela Mendoza. “This award is a tribute to the commitment and dedication of all of us here.”
